Anyway, for those who don't know what it says, it is: Gostiny Dvor and Pushkin.
So, we've had a few busy days. Sunday we went to our grandmother's place again, unfortunately I wasn't feeling well, so I spent most of my time lying down reading. Monday was a home day, as well as Tuesday (Papa went out into the middle of nowhere with a friend to do a job, he said it was like driving to the Okanagan from Victoria and back in one day. LONG DRIVE) Yesterday we had a nice planned out day downtown. We went to Дом Книги (Dom Knigi or House of Books) Гостиный Двор (Gostiny Dvor) and the Kazan Cathedral.
Gostiny Dvor is a street downtown but it's also a special shopping centre. It's very expensive, but originally it was where all the merchants sold their finery.
Это Гжель er... this is Gzhel. It is the famous Russian dish ware. It's beautiful and very traditional. Mom loves it… I must say, I do as well.
And the Kazan Cathedral… I was having fun with my camera and the columns… :D
Oh, more columns…
A glimpse of downtown St. Petersburg… It's beautiful… so old, and so sophisticated.
The streets in Russia are very very wide. Often 3-5 lanes going each way. Downtown there are underground walkways. Underground, there are little kiosks as well.
Today we went back to Pushkin too finalize our souvenir shopping. Everything has been purchased now.. well, ok, not everything :)
It was a beautiful day… and I took a lot of pictures… a lot of similar pictures… :D
Well, that's all for now… Busy weekend ahead so I'll be as diligent as possible in keeping you all updated!
Love the pictures!! :D
