Lithuania: Kaunas and Palanga

Lithuania, the homeland of my Grandmother on my Mom's side. A beautiful country.

Another out-of-the-car-window picture. They never turn out really well, but you can't just let all that beautiful scenery go by without capturing some of it.

A Medieval castle in Kaunas. Very different from the classic, fairy-tale castle pictured in books and movies. Although those do exist, they aren't found here. The castle has been rebuilt recently after it was destroyed in the Dark Ages by the Swedes.

On the Beautiful beach... well, Mom and Papa at least :)

The Hill of Crosses... absolutely amazing. SO MANY CROSSES! Well, Farewell Lithuania, now to Latvia, full of surprises...
